A preview of my latest work
Put a rush on this set of pieces, as I am excited to share and make them available to you!
This set of 20 x 10s was originally intended to be the ‘simple’ version of what I typically did with the totem style. I did sell a couple in this simplified state.

But after the stragglers sat around a while and with the addition of the character and birdhouse stack styles to the repertoire, I decided it was time to try to breathe some new life into them.
Adding the character outline and graffiti tags directly over the original work was an exhilarating experience. While creating these was a departure from the idea of making a very simple and quick representation of my work, I think the extra time per piece pays off in the complexity and depth of the finished product.
I did learn an important lesson about adding matte medium as a sealing coat. Pouring out little blobs to spread out proved to be a catalyst for the existing paint below. I think if I had just brushed it on I wouldn’t have had this experience.
As I went to spread it around, I was getting some of the color from beneath in what was intended to be a protective top coat. Tried to use it as a wash and spread it in an intentional-looking way, live and learn. Spray varnish is what I plan to try next as a protection coat.
Thanks for reading! I should have my Maryland tax stuff in order here shortly, will officially open the website for business after that. Will hopefully have a date to share this coming week!!
Nice work
